How to Use the Shift Trade Board

The Shift Trade Board lets you find shifts that other agents have posted for trade or create a public posting for a shift you want to trade. Public postings allow agents to find potential trade partners without sending a direct trade request to a specific agent.

For an overview of shift trading, see Shift Trades. To request a trade with a specific agent instead, see How to Trade a Shift.

Find a Shift to Trade

To find and request an available trade:

  1. Open the Calendar application.
  2. Select Shift Trade.
  3. Select the Trade Board tab.
  4. Navigate to the date you want to trade.
  5. Use the available search and filter options to find a trade posting that matches the shift you want to exchange.
  6. Select the trade posting.
  7. In the Shift Trade Request window, review your shift and the shift offered by the other agent.
  8. Optionally, enter a comment.
  9. Click Request Trade.

Review the proposed shifts and click Request Trade.

The agent who created the posting can review and respond to your request. You can view the request and its current status from Shift Trade > My Trade Requests.

Create a Public Trade Posting

If you do not find a suitable trade on the Trade Board, you can create a public posting for a shift you want to trade.

To create a public trade posting:

  1. From Shift Trade > Trade Board, click the + button.
  2. In the Create Public Trade Posting panel, select the Trade Date.
  3. Select the type of shift you want in return:
    • Working Day – Specify the desired Start Time and/or End Time ranges. You can also select an Activity.
    • Scheduled Day Off – Request a scheduled day off in exchange for your shift.
  4. Select an Expiration Date for the posting.
  5. Optionally, enter a comment.
  6. Click Create.

Your posting is available on the Trade Board to agents whose shifts meet the criteria you specified. You can view the posting and its current status from Shift Trade > My Trade Requests.

Specify the type of shift you want in return and click Create.

Respond to a Trade Request

When another agent responds to your public trade posting, the offer is available under Trade Offers in My Trade Requests.

To respond to a trade offer:

  1. Select Shift Trade > My Trade Requests.
  2. From the request type drop-down menu, select Trade Offers.
  3. Select the trade offer you want to review.
  4. In the Shift Trade Offer panel, review the proposed trade and any comments.
  5. Optionally, enter a comment.
  6. Click Accept or Decline.

Review the trade offer and click Accept or Decline.

If you decline the offer, the trade does not proceed.

If you accept the offer, the trade is submitted for approval. When the trade is approved, the affected shifts are updated in both agents' Calendars.

View Your Trade Requests

Use Shift Trade > My Trade Requests to view your public trade postings and trade requests. You can filter the displayed requests by status, including pending, approved, and denied requests.

Shift trade requests are also available to authorized users from List of Requests in the Workforce Management application.

My Trade Requests displays your trade postings and requests and their current statuses.
